The final round of the 2020 Oettinger Polo Cup Championship will take place in Port Elizabeth this weekend (31 October 2020) and Leyton Fourie is ready for yet another first this season.
Leyton has made a phenomenal main circuit debut, already earning himself a podium finish in a far more experienced field. The South African karting champion led the field for the majority of the last race and is already shaking up the establishment, together with his team, Signature Motorsport.
Every circuit has been a first for Leyton this season, but Aldo Scribante will be an adventure in that it will be Leyton’s first main circuit “away race”. In his usual calm and analytical style, Leyton is ready to face the challenge head on.
Aldo Scribante is a 2.48 km circuit, situated on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth. It is tight and narrow requiring precision driving. This is good news for Leyton as it will suit his driving style and karting background perfectly.
“I am excited for this weekend’s races and whilst I will be pushing hard for another opportunity to win, I will at the same time do whatever I can to help my Team Mates secure or improve their positions in the Championship. The season so far has been a real learning curve, but I have received the most amazing support from my team and sponsors. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of my Ferodo Brakes and Monroe Suspension VW Polo,” enthused Leyton.
Unfortunately spectators will not be permitted, but the race will be live streamed on the Volkswagen Racing ZA Facebook page.
