Leyton Fourie – 2019 Season preview

2019 is going to be an extraordinary year for Leyton Fourie. The South Africa karting champion is “shifting gears” this year, with a strong focus on International karting and an introduction to main circuit racing.

Locally, Leyton will focus on OKJ (MSA Academy) in the National Rok Cup Series. This class is expected to be very hotly contested and could arguably be described as the pinnacle of Rok racing in South Africa. Leyton will continue racing as part of the successful RKT team.

It is, however, on the International stage that Leyton’s talents are going to shine through. Thanks to his sponsors; Bidvest Compendium Insurance Brokers, Express Hire, Remote Hygiene and National Pride Trading, Leyton will be racing in Junior Max, OKJ and Junior Rok in various Euro Championship rounds. He will be run in these championships by KMS and RKT Europe, who are a well renowned and highly respected International teams.

Determined to follow his dreams, Leyton will also begin some single seater testing with Fantastic Racing in 2019. Whilst age restrictions will not allow any single seater racing just yet, Leyton will start adapting to main circuit in anticipation of his future plans.
As far as this weekend is concerned, Leyton will be competing in the first round of the 2019 Northern Regions Junior Max championship and will be using the event as a fun practice opportunity to get back behind the wheel after a long three month break.
