Leyton Fourie has been quietly optimistic this season and has become very strategic in the way he approaches races. In fact, his attitude toward racing has developed into that of a driver far beyond his years.
This change in Leyton’s driving style can be largely attributed to his International experience, but it is also paying off on local shores.
Leyton will be back on track this weekend for the third round of the 2019 Northern Regions OKJ Championship. The race meeting will be taking place at the Vaal Kart Circuit (VKC) in Vereeniging, which is great news for Leyton and his RKT team. VKC is the home base for RKT and Leyton took two race wins and a first place finish at the last event held there. He will be eager to capitalise on this home ground advantage to continue his good form.
As always a good result for Leyton this weekend will come down to avoiding any trouble in the Heats. Staying out of the “firing line” is paramount for a good result, which is unfortunate as results should be based on driver ability not luck.
Leyton is currently second the championship standings, but there is only three points in it. A good set of results could easily catapult Leyton into the lead, which is ultimately his primary goal.
