The final round of the South African Junior Max Championship will be taking place at Zwartkops Raceway on Sunday (30 September) and Bidvest Compendium Insurance Brokers’ driver, Leyton Fourie, will be completely focused on ending his rookie season (in the class) on the podium.
Leyton is currently in fourth place in the championship standings. This does not however exclude him from a podium finish as there are only 3 points between 2nd and 4th. With four races on the day, the podium battle is far from over.
“I would love to end the National Championship on the podium. I think it would be a fitting tribute to RKT and the hard work they have so tirelessly put into preparing my Tony Kart every weekend,” commented Leyton.
“I think the fact that the championship leader is 37 points ahead of me, somewhat reduces the pressure. Without having to worry about the championship title, I am free to focus on claiming my first race National Junior Max win. There have been a few close calls, but the win has been a bit elusive,” he concluded.
Qualifying will take place on Saturday, with all four races on Sunday.
