It has been a frenetic 2019 SA Rok Cup season for Leyton Fourie and all of his efforts will culminated in the season finale which will be taking place at iDube Raceway on 17 August 2019.

Leyton started the season on a very strong note, taking two race wins and a second place finish at the Vaal Kart Circuit in Vereeniging. From there, it has been a bit of a rollercoaster year with some close racing and mixed results. Despite what has transpired on track, however, Leyton has continued to show good form and has produced front running pace.

Unfortunately, the OKJ championship, as exciting as what it is, has a reputation for some rough driving and results are often based on luck and survival rather than true pace and ability.

Leyton is currently third in the point’s standings, but with only 8 points separating first and third, it is still anyone’s game. He will also be feeling confident of his chances after winning the recent Northern Regions event a few weeks ago and returning to his favorite circuit on the calendar.

“I expect the racing to be very close, but am feeling confident that my RKT team will give me the best possible equipment to get me to the front of the pack. I am hopeful that the racing will be clean, but am fully aware that my best chance at victory is to keep my head and not get involved in the bumping and barging,” expressed Leyton.

None of the primary championship contenders are KZN based, so there will be no real ‘home ground’ advantage.

“I don’t feel like the pressure is on me and I am just ready to get on track, race hard and do whatever is necessary to get the best results possible ” concluded Leyton.
