Leyton will face two days of karting competition at Zwartkops this weekend, with a regional event on Saturday and the International Rotax Africa Open on Sunday.
This will be the sixth round of the Northern regions championship and it is a fairly big deal. Leyton currently leads the Mini Max Championship and is in a fighting second in Mini Rok. All going according to plan, Leyton could potentially walk away from the day with two championship leads. The competition is however going to be tough with all the competitors realising that the season is winding down. There are only three rounds remaining and it’s now crunch time.
The regional will lead straight into the Africa Open on Sunday. Leyton will be competing in the Rotax Mini Max class and will use this as an opportunity to race against competitors from across the African continent. The winner on the day will walk away with an air ticket to go watch the World Finals in Portugal. Unlike in many of the other categories, it is the winner of the 2017 National Rotax Mini Max Championship (which has it’s final at the end of September) who will get to compete in the World Final event.
With the great RKT team infrastructure behind him, the silverware is ready for the taking. You can do it Leyton!
